Getting a reader's pass
During renovation work, the reader's orientation (Service d'orientation des lecteurs) delivering readers' passes remains at Richelieu Library, in premises located in the Vivienne garden.
Consulting temporarily transferred collections
Due to important renovation work at the Richelieu Library, some documents have been temporarily moved to other storage areas. It concerns the departments of Manuscripts, Performing arts, Prints and photographs as well as Maps and plans.
Allowing for exceptions, documents can be ordered and delivered at Richelieu Library; the delivery time depends on how far the document is located (between 24 and 72 hours).
A list of shelf marks concerning these documents might be found below.
If you cannot open the document, right click on the link and choose "Save Target [Link] As ..." Then, choose where to save the document on your hard disk, and click "Save."
Accessing documents stored at Richelieu Library
Numerous collections keep being stored at Richelieu Library. Documents from the Performing Arts Department and the Department of Western Manuscripts are delivered at set times.
- Performing Arts Department: please submit your order at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 3. 30 p.m.
- Department of Western Manuscripts: please submit your order at 10. 30 a.m., 11. 30 a.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m.
Microfilms and microfiches from the Performing Arts Department and the Department of Western Manuscripts are available only in the Salle Ovale. You may request up to 5 microforms each day.
Some documents (call numbers beginning with Re, Rj, Rec) from the Rondel Collection (Performing Arts Department) might be consulted only in the reading room of the Music Department (2, rue Louvois) from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and on Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the Catalogue général, these documents are marked “Communication au Départment de la Musique” (Available at the Music Department).
Access conditions remain unchanged for documents from other departments stored at Richelieu Library.
Ordering documents (Manuscripts department or Performing arts department)
It is possible to reserve your documents two days in advance before your visit to the Manuscripts department or the Performing arts department. This service is available provided you have a valid reader's card giving access to the Research Library.
