As well as films and promotional materials, the Library holds books and journals on cinema and the cinema industry.
More specifically, the Performing Arts department at the Richelieu Library holds extensive documentation on early cinema (up to the 1930s), including in particular foreign journals, and on cinema more generally up to the 1970s.
The Audiovisual department at the François Mitterrand Library holds books, of which some are in French and a large proportion are foreign, on the following:
