La Joie par les livres catalog

The « La Joie par les livres » catalog references collections held in the Literature and Art department by the National Center for Children’s Literature – La Joie par les livres (Centre national de la littérature pour la jeunesse – La Joie par les livres).

It covers more than 250,000 documents, including in particular the following:

• all French editorial output produced for children since the 1960s (books and journals)
• extensive representation of French language output, including in particular that from sub-Saharan Africa and the Arab world
• a foreign language collection
• a specialist fairy tales collection
• a collection of old, rare, and precious books
• posters
• reference books and journals specializing in young people’s literature and children’s libraries

For the time being, only a small proportion of multimedia documents are described in the catalog.
