It presents a selection of nearly 90 works created since 1979 by artists of different generations in the lithography workshops of Franck Bordas, then in his digital studio. Wishing to revive creation printings, Franck Bordas opened his first workshop of lithographic printing when he was 19. It was the beginning of long and fruitful collaborations with numerous artists with very different backgrounds such as Jean Dubuffet, Pierre Alechinsky, Joan Mitchell or Hervé di Rosa. Created either on lithographic stones or by computer, the prints presented in the exhibition illustrate the richness, originality and dynamism of this very specific aspect of contemporary creation.
Cécile Pocheau-Lesteven, Chief Librarian, Department of Prints and Photography, BnF, in collaboration with Franck Bordas.
