Cardinal Georges d’Amboise (1460-1510), archbishop of Rouen, then minister of Louis XII of France, was a great collector of works by Italian artists but also of manuscripts whether they be old or contemporary. This exhibition aims to present the jewels of this booklover’s collection. Also a patron of the arts, he became one of the most influential figures at Court. In the framework of a partnership, some 46 pieces are lent by the BnF for this exhibition.
