Mailing list

Definition

The agreed partners’ mailing list is open exclusively to members of BnF’s agreed partner network (resource centers and partner libraries receiving material from printers under the legal deposit scheme). Subscription to the list is free of charge.

Its aim is to facilitate the sharing of information, ideas, and experience within BnF and its agreed partner network in relation to shared cooperation activities. It uses the e-mail addresses of members of the network (chief librarians, correspondents, staff involved in day-to-day management of the legal deposit scheme, etc.). This mailing list, which can be accessed via BnF’s website (www.bnf.fr), is hosted by the Bibliothèque nationale de France.

Parties involved in producing and circulating messages

The parties involved in circulating messages to the list are as follows:

• Message authors
  To send a message to the mailing list, you must be a member of BnF’s agreed partner network and state your identity, and more specifically your e-mail address. Authors agree not to post messages that are against the law, on penalty of having such messages deleted before circulation and potentially being banned from the mailing list.
  The information you provide below will be stored in a database.
  In accordance with the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978, you have the right to access, amend, and delete any personal data about yourself.
• List moderators
  The moderators of this list may not be held liable for opinions expressed in messages.
  Their role is to check that the content of messages is consistent with the general subject of the mailing list (cooperation within BnF’s agreed partner network) before messages are circulated.

You will automatically be sent a document containing the fair use charter and instructions, which will include a link to confirm your subscription request.
You will then be sent a second automated message confirming that you have been subscribed to the list.
