French National Bibliography Online

The official national bibliography established by the Bibliothèque nationale de France on the basis of materials received under the legal deposit scheme can be consulted online. This online facility provides the following:

• Free-of-charge open access to bibliographic records.
• Access to records in the catalogue général de la BnF via a link carried by each record’s FRBNF number. This link provides access to catalog functions: creating a basket, delivery through email, printing, and bookmarking records.
  

Three search methods are available for each record:

• index browsing (authors, titles, subjects, etc.)
• use of the classification schedule grouping records into major topical classes
• use of the Google search engine, which can be accessed via the Search tab at the top right of the screen
