Appel à candidatures - Bourses BnF-CRFJ soutenant des recherches sur les fonds documentaires de la Custodie de Terre sainte à Jérusalem

La BnF, en partenariat avec le Centre français de recherche à Jérusalem (CRFJ), lance un appel à candidatures pour des bourses de recherche visant l’identification, la description et/ou l’étude de fonds documentaires détenus par la Custodie franciscaine de Terre sainte et dont la BnF soutient la numérisation et la diffusion sur Gallica dans le cadre du projet Bibliothèques d’Orient.

Les fonds particulièrement concernés sont : 

• Le fonds photographique ancien, dont environ 4 000 plaques de verre ;
• Le fonds d’ouvrages publiés par les Presses Franciscaines (Franciscan Printing Press) ;
• Les archives de la pharmacie de la Custodie ainsi que les ouvrages de médecine et de pharmacie conservés dans la bibliothèque ;
• Une partie des fonds de firmans mamelouks et ottomans conservés dans les archives de la Custodie.

Les boursiers peuvent être des doctorants, des post-doctorants ou des étudiants de niveau master, sans contrainte de nationalité ou d’établissement principal de rattachement.

La date limite pour le dépôt des candidatures, en français ou anglais, est le 31 mai 2023.

The BnF, in partnership with the Centre de recherche français de Jérusalem (CRFJ, French Research Centre in Jerusalem), has launched a call for applications for individual research grants aimed to support the identification, description and/or study of collections held by the Custody of the Holy Land. These collections, which are being digitised will the assistance of the BnF, will be made available on Gallica as part of the Bibliothèques d’Orient (Libraries of the Middle East) project.

Concerned collections are:

• The archives of the Pharmacy of the Custody as well as the medical and pharmacy volumes kept in the library; 
• The old photographic collection, including approximately 4,000 glass plates;
• The collection of monographs and other volumes published by the Franciscan Printing Press;
• Selected items from the collections of Mamluk and Ottoman firmans held in the archives of the Custody. 

The grant holders can be doctoral students, post-doctoral scholars or master’s level students, regardless of nationality or main institutional affiliation.

The deadline for submitting applications, in French or English, is 31 May 2023.
