Are you a researcher?

The Bibliothèque nationale de France welcomes all year long researchers, from France and all around the world. We offer services adapted to your research project. The Research Library gives entirely access to all our collections, open-stack or in closed stacks. It is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9AM to 8PM and on Mondays from 2PM to 8PM.

Electronic resources

The BnF has a great number of electronic resources at your disposal, do not hesitate to use them. With your unlimited Research Pass, some of these resources are also accessible online. Our digitized library Gallica allows you to consult many documents, on-site and online.

work on your own or in a group

In the Research Library, dont forget to book a seat and reserve your documents by connecting to your personal space !
Many group rooms are at your disposal, don’t hesitate to make a reservation on the Affluences application.

connect, print, photocopy, scan

A free Wifi access at the BnF allows you to connect to the internet.
Printers, scanners and scan tents permit to reproduce documents according to your needs.

You begin a research work or want to dig deeper? You conduct a personal, academic or professional research? You are in need of a quick support.
We offer an individual meeting in French to help you find relevant resources, to learn more about data bases or to describe a catalogue research.

How to use this free service?

For readers of the Research Library, every Tuesday and Friday between 11Am and noon and between 3PM and 4PM.
We welcome you directly in reading room X or after making an appointment on the Affluences application or by phone +33 (0)1 53 79 49 49.
