Mardi 11 avril 2023, la BnF et l’Administration pour le patrimoine culturel de la République de Corée en les personnes de Mme Laurence Engel, Présidente de la BnF et de Mme Chae Su-Hee suppléante de l’Administrateur de l’Administration du Patrimoine culturel de la République de Corée, ont signé une convention de coopération triennale visant à renforcer la coopération scientifique, autour des fonds coréens de la BnF.
La facilitation de l’accès du public coréen à l’exposition « Imprimer ! L’Europe de Gutenberg », dans laquelle le Jikji (le plus ancien ouvrage conservé imprimé avec des caractères mobiles métalliques) est présenté pour la première fois depuis 50 ans, notamment via des ressources en ligne en coréen ainsi que l’organisation conjointe de conférences relatives au Jikji, constituent les deux premières actions réalisées dans le cadre de cet accord.
La cérémonie de signature a eu lieu, en amont du vernissage de l’exposition. En plus des deux signataires, étaient également représentés :
Les Ambassadeurs de la République de Corée en France et auprès de l’UNESCO étaient aussi présents, accompagnés du Directeur du Centre Culturel Coréen de Paris.
La visite guidée de l’exposition par les commissaires de l’exposition Nathalie Coilly et Caroline Vrand (BnF), a conclu cette séquence diplomatique et scientifique.
On Tuesday the 11th of April 2023, the BnF and the Cultural Heritage Administration of the Republic of Korea, in the persons of Ms Laurence Engel, President of the BnF and Ms Chae Su-Hee, Director-General of the Administration for Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Korea, signed a three-year cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening the scientific cooperation around the Korean collections of the BnF.
The facilitation of the Korean public to the exhibition «Printing! Gutenberg’s Europe» in which Jikji - the oldest known book in the world printed with movable metal type - is presented for the first time in 50 years, notably through online resources in Korean, as well as the joint organisation of conferences related to Jikji are among the first actions carried out under this agreement.
